Hey proxies, I was replaced as Soldier 11 because I am unwilling to perform work not covered by a SAG Interim Agreement during a strike for AI protections, the outcome of which will determine the future of our industry. Any other theories that pop up are incorrect. 🧵1/5

Authentic representation in games & all media will never stop being important. We’re clearly not done. But I believe we’re making progress. Keep pushing. Speak up. Be discerning in what you audition for. We can do this.

I'd like to clarify that there's a difference between being "struck" & not being on an Interim Agreement. Union projects that began work prior to the strike & non-union projects are not "struck." But they also do not offer the Union-enforced AI rights we are fighting for. 🧵2/5

I knew that by withholding work it was possible I'd be replaced, though of course I hoped they would choose to leave her silent until I was able to return. I found out the role was recast today alongside all of you. 🧵4/5

There are many contracts out there with AI protections, but only SAG Interim Contracts provide actors with a legal team to enforce the contract at no cost. Legal fees are expensive, and many actors would have to go into debt to enforce our own contracts if they were violated.

I really want to voice a character in League of Legends someday. Partially because that would be an awesome role and career milestone, but mostly because my ex plays that game and I want to startle the crap out of him.

Recording studios are a middle man in production, so contract decisions are *generally* up to the developers, but that's just a very broad "how the industry works" thing. Actors are not usually privy to the inner workings of any individual projects.
