Today’s the day. Introducing my new company, @agency — backed by @sequoia and Hubspot Ventures; with my friend and mentor @bhalligan on the Board. Enjoyed getting to talk with @MTemkin@TechCrunch about what we’re building.
My coding days are over and most of my day is spent communicating. Guess what? Coding was much easier.
Now instead of reading programming books I read books about learning how to communicate better. Long ways to go.
What are your favorites?
“if you are not failing, frustrated, or disappointed almost every day about something, you are too comfortable.” — @jasonlk
I share something similar with folks at @drift
If you work at a startup and feel something between stressed and challenged you are doing it right!
A company shouldn't be sales-led. It shouldn't be product-led. It needs to be customer-led. It's not about revenue or product features, it's about a happy customer that fights for you.
Practice Extreme Ownership. We don't endorse or support some of Grant Cardone's comments he made earlier this morning. We will be very careful with our speakers to make sure it doesn't happen again. 🙇🏽♂️🙏💙⚡️

How long before internal CEO letters start leaking pushing to hire influencers as the marketing team?
B2B marketing is so meh.
Name one company doing it well. I will wait.
People vastly underestimate the economical impact a single hiring decision in a fast growing company
A single hire lifetime cost/value for both company & employee quickly exceeds $1M and can in best cases reach into $10M or more
Nothing more important than people

The number ONE 👆🏽barrier to growth for growing startups is the need for the executive team to grow in their abilities to delegate and predict.
My entire 2020 year will be dedicated to one area of growth for me personally: EFFECTIVE DELEGATION.
One of our top priorities @drift during onboarding is to impress on new employees that not only is it permissible to challenge their leaders respectfully, if they think they have a better answer, but that it is their obligation.
I remember the day young DG showed up at our @Drift offices.
He was as energetic, magnetic and charismatic as he's today. I fell for him, to work with him shoulder to shoulder and to see him grow as a marketer, husband and father.
So proud to have spent 4 yrs with you.
. @drift we never wait until anything is perfect. Here are our #leadership#principles
People often ask me what's different at Drift from all of our other companies. The answer: #intentional.
We are intentional about our culture, rituals, shared language, symbols & principles.
It was hard enough before COVID-19 to keep up with the meetings. A lot of people believe most can be replaced with emails.
We found something much better.
Replace meetings with videos.
