NEW BLOCKBUSTER: Private jet travel. Superyacht Island-hopping. Stays at a private resort. For decades, Justice Clarence Thomas accepted luxury gifts from a billionaire. Appears he broke the law. @js_kaplan & @JustinElliott: propublica.org/article/claren…

This is an inexcusable @nytimes headline. To soften and normalize Trump’s behavior on this week of all weeks is something else.

SCOOP: Billionaire GOP donor flew Justice Alito up to Alaska for a luxury fishing trip. The donor, Paul Singer, later had cases before the court. Alito didn't recuse. Ethics experts say he should have. propublica.org/article/samuel…

NEW: It's not just coders. DOGE is filled with lawyers, elite attorneys with conservative credentials. We have new names of @elonmusk's minions.

1/ Here’s a story about how journalism works. Spoiler Alert: This is how we decide *not* to publish. We were recently looking at Pete Hegesth’s different statements over the years about West Point, where he has said he was admitted. First stop: West Point.
We understand that ProPublica (the Left Wing hack group) is planning to publish a knowingly false report that I was not accepted to West Point in 1999. Here’s my letter of acceptance signed by West Point Superintendent, Lieutenant General Daniel Christman, US Army.

I’ve always wondered what it would be like to live through the Great Depression and the Spanish Flu at the same time. With Andrew Johnson as president.

NEW: In 2000, Clarence Thomas was deep in debt. He met w/ a GOP Congressman & complained about his salary. The GOP started to fear he’d leave the court. In the years that followed, billionaires lavished him w/ secret gifts. propublica.org/article/claren…

Hegseth has said that he got into West Point but didn’t attend. We asked West Pt public affairs, which told us twice on the record that he hadn’t even applied there. We reached out. Hegseth's spox gave us his acceptance letter. We didn't publish a story. That's journalism.

I'm trying to understand the level of cowardice you have to have to stay quiet during Trump's impeachment and then months later come out and say that he should have been impeached for much more than Ukraine.

11/ So: No, we are not publishing a story. This is how journalism is supposed to work. Hear something. Check something. Repeat steps 1 and 2 as many times as needed. The end.

While it’s necessary to focus on children concentration camps, the reality is that our policy discussion has been hijacked. The border crisis is a myth. Immigration has been falling. Doesn’t hurt wages or increase crime. It isnt in the top 100 serious challenges for our country.

NEW BLOCKBUSTER: Clarence Thomas took in his grand-nephew, “raising him like a son.” Sent him to expensive private schools. And the tuition? Picked up by billionaire Harlan Crow. It was secret. Until now. @JustinElliott & @js_kaplan got the goods: propublica.org/article/claren…

Yes the USPS is an emergency. But cutting government and then pointing to a crippled government as proof that government doesn’t work has been a Republican strategy for 40 years.
