As Bard and LaMDA Research Platform lead, I am excited for people to try Bard. It's experimental and early stages, but the user feedback will be very useful and help develop this new technology.
Bard is now available in the US and UK, w/more countries to come. It’s great to see early @GoogleAI work reflected in it—advances in sequence learning, large neural nets, Transformers, responsible AI techniques, dialog systems & more. You can try it at bard.google.com

[I don't normally post personal updates on Twitter, but I want to honor my father's memory after burying his ashes yesterday.] A thread. About two months ago, my father passed away after years of fighting COPD. He was 86 years old. My heart aches because I miss him,

Many years ago, my late PhD advisor John Riedl said: "Not to worry about not knowing anybody at conferences, because if you keep going, they will all become your friends." Great advice. Gratefully true, as some confs are now inviting me to give talks to my friends. #PhDChat

Humbling to be amongst great colleagues... Honestly, my case seemed unlikely---years ago I decided to follow my passion and ended up splitting my attention in several communities---from HCI, IR/social/web mining, to Machine Learning.

Bard Image capabilities that came out of my team at Google is now live!
Starting today, Bard will include images in responses for relevant prompts, including when you specifically ask for images. Try asking Bard things like, “Give me landscaping inspiration for my small city backyard.”

Honored to receive this test-of-time award. Amazing that twenty years usage gone by. John Riedl, who passed away several years ago, would have been proud to celebrate this with me.

One of the better posters I saw today at #icml25 This gets at the root of the problems we were thinking about when we conceived and wrote the CoT paper.

    Replying to @sundarpichai
Now Gemini Pro is coming today in Bard’s biggest update yet (in English in 170 countries) with more advanced reasoning and understanding in the responses. Bard Advanced with Ultra, our most general and capable model for highly complex tasks, is coming early next year.
