- it's becoming increasingly clear to me why medical researchers had to reinvent integration in 1993
- this is what knowing anything is like! (not dissing the tweet; agreeing + elaborating). knowing about architecture means buildings are legible in a different way; knowing about plants and birds makes hikes more stimulating, playing music makes listening to it richer, etcIt's so wild that there are people who can identify cars by sight. Like instead of “brown truck” or “grey sedan” everywhere they go they’re all “that Mazda Myopia is turning left beside the 2017 Chevy Stigmata”. It must be like seeing those colors only shrimp can see.
- Why do movies still have shots of the rolling hills and valleys. Why do movies show the resplendent beauty of nature. Why do movies portray the rushing water over reeds. Why do movies show the stillness of the forest. Not necessary. How does it serve the plot.

- This is one of the best books I have read in the last 5 years. Do yourself a favour and get it if you have any interest in art, or any kind of complex relationship to the demands of the world. (link below)
