You don't imagine wonderful people like this having setbacks. From the Washington Post, Feb 2 2014.

It's time to invent time-bankruptcy. I owe so many people so many things, and everyone is mad at me. I declare bankruptcy! Let the courts sort it out.

My paper spent 18 hours at the QJE yesterday. Sigh. Well, at least they are fast.

Aah! I'm a dad! Calico Rose Eckel was born at 3:32 am this morning. Mom, daughter, and myself are all still pretty tired, but everything looks good!

Dear economists, This thread, lambasting the authors, shows how important your abstract is. Most people who look at your article will ONLY read the title and abstract. Take special care with it. The paper is good, but the abstract is terrible.

Fascinating new paper in AER. Ryan Oprea cleverly uses lab experiments to find out what is complex. Highly innovative use of experimental methods. aeaweb.org/articles?id=10…

I'm just gonna say. As a reviewer, it is frustrating to try to get an editor to accept an experimental paper in a top journal. The external validity argument seems to win over, and one reviewer is guaranteed to mention it.

Submitted a paper today! Data collected in 2009-2010. I guess I'm a little behind.

Oh. We have 39 confirmed cases in Tx. Would you like to know how many people have been tested? 220. The population of Texas is 28.7 million, in case you are interested.

Fascinating experimental paper by Bohren, @alexoimas, Rosenberg showing that discrimination is based on biased beliefs, just out in the AER. pubs.aeaweb.org/doi/pdfplus/10…

Dear #econtwitter, what are your favorite papers in Behavioral Public Economics? New, unpublished work is fine. Feel free to suggest your own. Interested in papers that use behavioral theory, observational data and/or experiments (including nudges). Thanks in advance!
