- I was gonna save this for 2024 but.. Hey! Almost-new year, new look! We can all thank @Keishinkae for the updated look :)
- We wanted to take a second to recognize an awesome member of the community for creating socks inspired by e621’s Hexagon theme and mascots. We don’t make anything off these, but we still wanted to recognize just how amazing we think they are. <3 societyofsocks.us/store/sock/hexa
- We’re planning on launching the next generation of e621 next week - on March 4. On the 4th we’ll take the old site down and do the necessary migrations and upgrades. Closer to the 4th we’ll have estimates on the downtime we’ll need to finish the upgrades.
- Thank you all for the participation in this! It's been great seeing all the responses we've gotten to our gag this year. I'd like to also ask you all to be sure to give @FSCArmy a look at, they're on the front lines fighting against all ID verification laws. Thank you all again!
- I’m also going to say this now, even though our plans haven’t been fully settled yet: The new version of e621 will be open source. What our hope is that we can get the talented developers in the community involved and help make the site better than it’s ever been.
- We're deeply saddened by @Dragoneer 's passing. Losing the founder of such an important community space affects us all. Our thoughts are with him, and we hope he rests in peace.
- Finishing up a few quick things and the site will be fully back online.

- Here in a few minutes we’re going to take e621 offline briefly to install some updates and security patches to our servers. It will take no more than 30 minutes, but should be done sooner than that.
- For those of you worried about e621 - be it the upcoming legislation in the US or our unfortunate outage that happened as HentaiHaven was shut down... We’re doing just fine. In fact, just yesterday we discussed plans for some major updates we’re going to work on in the new year.
- For context: We’re migrating the site’s content over to a new server with significantly faster storage to help with response times when the site is busy. We already did the initial migration last week, this is just to catch up on things that have changed during that time.
