i really loved in wicked how ariana’s glinda was very clearly deeply influenced by kristin and she was channeling kristin but cynthia was super clearly making an elphaba based on her experiences as a black woman as opposed to idina’s as a jewish woman
oh i would take a bullet for this man what a beautiful response made by someone who’s clearly secure in himself and his sexuality. this is being an ally he didn’t act disgusted or upset that people thought he was gay he simply reminded them gay men don’t look or act one way
Tyler James Williams denies he’s gay and says speculating someone’s sexuality is dangerous:
“Overanalyzing someones behavior in an attempt to ‘catch’ them directly contributes to the anxiety a lot of queer and queer questioning people feel when they fear living in their truth.”
fun fact queer people who live in conservative states with a lot of anti lgbtq legislation actually need pride events and places where they can express themselves WAY MORE than queer people in giant liberal cities
saw wicked with my gf and five seconds into this intro i grabbed her arm and said “fuck this is gonna be so good isn’t it” and then it was even better than i thought it would be
combatting homophobia by assuming everyone is gay unless they directly say the words “i’m straight” in which case i’m still gonna think they are maybe lying a bit
y’all remember that lesbian christmas film that came out where kristen stewart was blindsided by her closeted gf and had to hide in the closet the whole time and was exposed to her gfs super homophobic family and people were like but have sympathy for the gf who lied to her 😭😭
you can’t be queer and insist on upholding traditional gender norms or shit on the working class or hate butches or hate trans people or be racist or any of the things that a lot of you gays will do. you just happen to be gay but you aren’t queer you aren’t in the community
