Despite what @fordnation says. My intubated 30-50 year old #COVID patients were not congregating by choice. They were working in essential jobs where they have the highest exposure risk and the least protection. Do not insult their sacrifice.

Hospitals are not the place for anti-vaccination protests.

It took: 5 MDs 4 ICU RNs 4 RTs 1 perfusionist & 3 critical care paramedics 3 hrs To save my ~40 yr old #COVID patient with #ECMO It would have cost @ONgov $114 (8h x min wage) to allow her husband to take a day off work from his factory in known outbreak. We have lost our way.

We are seeing patients admitted to ICU with #COVID well after shot 1 and before shot 2. One isn't vaccinated until fully vaccinated. Given the significant delay between shots 1 & 2, clear communication on how to conduct oneself b/w shots from public health leaders would help.

If @fordnation wants to know how bad this is....and will continue to be...@CNN is interviewing me about the horrifying situation in Ontario....and how it will get worse. We are Breaking News....and will continue to be because you are leading us into the abyss.

Today I learned: - @fordnation doesn't care about my patients or that they are primarily poor & racialized Canadians - essential workers will continue to die - triage will happen - Ontarians have not only been abandoned, but also blamed by @ONgov for our collective situation

If school doesn't resume as scheduled and my kids ask me why 10K people were at the Raptors game on Dec 28...what would @ONgov like me to tell them?

While we continue to care for several patients critically ill with #COVID it's been 10 days since we've admitted a new COVID patient to our ICU. Thank you to all those who have chosen to get vaccinated. It's made an incredible difference both inside & outside the hospital walls.

Anti-vaccine protesters will be congregating at hospitals in 10 provinces again on Monday. While I can't understand what motivates people to disrupt the healing of the sick and the safety of the healers, my hope is that the authorities will not tolerate any form of harassment.

I've treated >200 patients with COVID and seen >50 die. Dr. Moore seems to be implying that they could have protected themselves by doing their own "risk assessment." I don't even know what that means.

I have yet to treat an ICU patient with variant-driven #COVID who acquired their infection while out of country. To break the chain of transmission of the already established variants, we need to focus on what can be done within our borders to protect people.

As a doctor I can't go back work post COVID+ until asymptomatic and RAT (-). As per Dr. Moore, my wife and kids can go back to work/school post COVID as long as no symptoms, even if RAT still positive. Sending infectious individuals back to work/school does not make sense.

On what date will we lift restrictions on scheduled surgeries?

AZ>40 is a great move. April 20-25 should be hotzone vax week in Ontario. Divert supply to pharmacies in hotzone areas and have @ONgov contract with employers to cover paid vax time for essential workers. Empty the fridges.
