Today, I was banned from phone communication with my children by Hudson County Superior Court. And I am about to give up on this legal fight for my kids. My story proves America's Family court system is broken. A thread.

An order was entered for me and the children to immediately return to the US. Despite the clear fact that the borders were closed. Meanwhile, the kids and I lived our best lives in a mansion near the beach.

This international law is supposed to protect victims of child abduction, by deciding which country has jurisdiction over a family's custody matters. Instead, it has become a tool of abusers to maintain control over their victims. fawco.org/global-issues/…

In January 2019, I relocated to Trinidad and Tobago with my ex and our two babies. We thought we could have a better life there and we did. As a young couple, we were finally able to afford an apartment together. It even had a pool and playground in the neighborhood!

Today, I will be reuniting with my kids after a year without seeing them and many months with no contact. The sun is shining and the sky is blue. Today is a good day, y'all. Thank you everyone for your support. It has literally saved us.

I just had to break it to my mom, who just endured cancer treatments, that she will not be seeing her grand children indefinitely. Pray for me that she finds the strength to receive this news.😭😭

for the custody evaluator if what I owed in child support was held "in abeyance." So I paid the full 9k for the retainer fee to get the custody evaluation moving, after my ex had not comply with court orders for months. $19,500 later, the case had only just begun..... END PART 1

But the truth was that our relationship was already deteriorating, as a result of his abuse, cheating, angry outbursts and constant lies. By the time we agreed to return to the US in May 2019 to tie up some loose ends, I knew things wouldn't work out.theroot.com/finding-friend…

PART II. Buckle in. Here is where it gets rreeaaallll good. In February 2022, I was contacted by my ex's then wife. She told me he was leaving my daughter home alone after school. She was only 4. The wife also told me my ex has behaved erratically with her and she was scared.

And that is exactly what it did. My ex was given a free attorney and legal support to raise his Hague case against me. He had NO evidence except for New Jersey's claim to jurisdiction. That's how I became a legal kidnapper in the midst of a pandemic in Oct 2020.

Fortunately, another judge was put on the case and he issued a court order that said I could return after the borders reopened. He gave me sole custody of my kids and put my ex on child support. That didn't stop my ex's lawyer from invoking The Hague Convention.

When I expressed to the judge that I could not return because the pandemic shut down the border of Trinidad and Tobago, so if I left I couldn't get home, she told me make an application about it when I got back. She didn't care that I would be homeless in the midst of a pandemic.

When you don’t have money, anyone can make false allegations in court and criminalize you while you are unable to defend yourself. The court system is NOT a place of equity. It is proof of the failure of capitalism. It has been >180 days since I have seen or heard from my kids.
