As I'm back to school tomorrow, time to remind everyone that there are now over 600 free maths resources at draustinmaths.com. Each resource can be downloaded as a PDF or as a Word document to edit (if it's not quite right for your class). There are answers too! 1/3

I'm teaching a Year 7 Maths class in September for the first time in ages, and I'm very excited about it! Hence lots of new resources on the way. Starting with factors, multiples and primes: ✨Prime Numbers Crack the Code ✨Factors Practice Strips ✨Factor Bugs Activity Plus...

For everyone returning to Maths teaching this week, this is your annual reminder about draustinmaths.com, which now contains over 800 (I've just counted!) KS3 and KS4 FREE Maths resources that you may find useful over the coming year. #mathschat #mathscpdchat #mathsTLP

I've been rethinking the way I teach circle theorems, so this week I started by recapping angles in triangles before (hopefully) neatly segueing into the special cases for isosceles and right-angled triangles inside circles. Used these resources, which seemed to work well...

🎄My first contribution to some Christmas-themed activities!🎄 I have plotting quadratic, cubic and reciprocal graphs coming up this week with Year 10, so here's a create-a-picture task for plotting quadratic graphs. At draustinmaths.com #mathscpdchat #mathschat #mathstlp

I made these coordinate geometry spider diagram-type resources so long ago I don’t even remember when, but I rediscovered and so have upgraded them. There are three levels, each with four diagrams - y = mx + c, harder equations of lines, and parallel/perpendicular lines. 1/2

The final six revision grids are here - covering all of statistics and probability content. That's a full set of 23 revision grids now! Hopefully of use for those all-important Y11 revision lessons. Find them all at draustinmaths.com/revision #mathschat #mathsresources #mathsTLP

So, I've starting making some full coverage-type revision grids for my Year 11s to use. Starting with the number topics, here are the first five grids. In theory, grids 1 to 5 go through every number topic from grades 1-9 in order of increasing difficulty. 1/2

I've been rethinking how I'll teach functions to my Y11s this year. I'm going to try spending a lot more time using function machines to build understanding and confidence before I bring in algebraic methods. Starting this week with these resources... #mathscpdchat #mathsTLP

⭐️NEW⭐️ Quadratics resources added today. A fill in the blanks task to hopefully develop links between expanding and factorising quadratics, and a practice grid for solving quadratics in geometrical contexts. All problems reduce to monic quadratics which can be factorised.

Next up - six GEOMETRY revision grids, grids 1 to 6 in order of increasing difficulty. Hopefully one question on each objective/skill, and I've been using these with students to identify gaps (sometimes they don't know what they don't know!) #mathschat #mathsTLP

⭐️NEW⭐️My Year 10 students are looking at angle problems involving regular and irregular polygons this week, so I've created a couple of question grids (of course!). Not yet tested on students so there will be errors - please let me know if you spot any... #mathstlp #mathscpdchat

Probability is another topic I’ve got coming up next half-term. I’ve created resources on different probability scenarios - dice, counters, spinners and playing cards - with the aim of focusing on each one separately in a bit of depth. 1/2

After a lovely break I’ve set to work on some new #mathsresources on factors, multiples and primes - including a Decode the Joke, Fill in the Blanks for HCF and LCM, and harder questions where prime factorisations are given. All free at draustinmaths.com #mathschat
