Tech-driven: solve the top problems we can solve using AI. World-driven: rank problems by societal importance and use AI where it helps. Its important to do the latter else we mistake progress in AI for meaningful progress. Analogy: build great cities, not great cities for cars.

I'm so happy with the progress our Veo team has made on video generation. The samples are amazing!
Today, we’re announcing Veo 2: our state-of-the-art video generation model which produces realistic, high-quality clips from text or image prompts. 🎥 We’re also releasing an improved version of our text-to-image model, Imagen 3 - available to use in ImageFX through

Prompt: An extreme close-up of a craftsperson's hands shaping a glowing piece of pottery on a wheel. Threads of golden, luminous energy connect the potter’s hands to the clay, swirling dynamically with their movements.
Prompt: A portrait of an Asian woman with neon green lights in the background, shallow depth of field.

I'm having so much fun trying out Imagen, a new text-to-image diffusion model from the Google Brain team -- gweb-research-imagen.appspot.com. Here is "a house in the shape of a corgi made out of sushi." #imagen

Never a dull moment with @sirajraval, who this time seems to have copied huge chunks of a paper, not even changing equation numbers (Wow!) Head-scratching that he would think he could get away with this. Spread the word and unfollow @sirajraval.
So in @sirajraval's livestream yesterday he mentioned his 'recent neural qubit paper'. I've found that huge chunks of it are plagiarised from a paper by Nathan Killoran, Seth Lloyd, and co-authors. E.g., in the attached images, red is Siraj, green is original

I wanted to give a full tweet to the fact that I am the NIPS 2018 Party Chair. (Don't hide it. I know you're impressed.) I'll be working with others to put together a night of researcher-generated music for the official banquet. Stay tuned for details. nips.cc/Conferences/20…

I'm really excited about Tensorflow.js and verry happy that we're able to offer Magenta.js to work alongside it. This library will make it really easy to develop javascript music and art experiments. Give it a try!
We just launched Magenta.js: an API for generating music with @GoogleMagenta models in the browser! Read about it and play with some demos at g.co/magenta/js! @iansimon @fjord41 @teropa

Your language model is only intelligent if it comes from the Symbolique region of France. Otherwise it's just sparkling words.

Happy to welcome @goodfellow_ian back to Google Brain! This is great for those of us working on Magenta. :-)

Check out what Transformer can do with music. Anna Huang (@huangcza) just posted her recent work (with many others) on arxiv. Also listen to the generated performances. arxiv.org/abs/1809.04281
