Make sure: 1. your residency program and hospital are aware of this, 2. discuss this with peers and mentors every time it happens, 3. keep a log of positive and negative interactions with names, place and times. This is a workplace safety issue.

Just polypropylene suture, some heparin, OR time, anesthesia. No thousand dollar items opened from peel packs and thrown out after single use. Lower stroke rate than any stent. About an hour of operating. CEA FTW. #vascsurg #vasctwitter

There it is -the Park clamp principle. It really helps in blown out AVF. Sure the finger works but you might incorporate it in your closure.

When a pacemaker lead failed at rate of 0.0003% it was pulled off market and subject to recall, when endografts fail at 5-10%, nothing happens. And we failed to train a generation of vascular surgeons who can do open aortic surgery. Stay on IFU. Learn open surgery.
“Get together”…sometimes “Open Repair” need to be done after/with EVAR. Surgical option. Type I refractory endoleak. FEVAR not possible due to tortuosity, calcification and diameter of the external iliac.#vascularsurgery #hospitaldasclinicasribeiraopreto #aorta #aneurysm #usp

Nothing done with a sharp object in a hospital can be safely performed without the backup of a vascular surgeon, yet it is so easily overlooked. Many hospitals are realizing the critical role of vascular surgery only when their surgeon retires. #vascsurg #medtwitter

This is a “Park” compressor. Custom made at CCF. Particularly with venous injuries it allows for hemostasis and a field to sew in. Useful in VATS and laparoscopic procedures. #vascsurg #medtwitter #traumasurgery

Sometimes, using a bit of graft is more effective than opening a very expensive hemostatic agent. I present, the gusset. #vascsurg
