Allow me to tease the Game Boy Interceptor, an rp2040-based adapter that goes between your (unmodified) Game Boy and the game cartridge to record or stream your gameplay. 1/5
I did it! A full resolution video stream via my WiFi cartridge on an unmodified original #GameBoy! Glorious 160x144 pixels blasted out at 20fps.
A full video with details will follow.
Oiled and equipped with a main board from an original Game Boy. It fits almost perfectly along with the (non-original) power switch and battery contacts. Now I need some spare time for the top half. 1/2
I bought the filthiest GBA I could find on eBay to verify that the GB Interceptor also works with the Game Boy Advance. (Only original GB games, of course.)
Waiting to receive the revised version. If it works, it's almost finished.
Some new features for the GB Interceptor:
Frame blending, DMG green mode, status screens, games relying on LY instead of vsync interrupt supported and many more games tested.
...and the Game Boy Camera is working!
