At long last, she’s here! Please meet Leena Mo, CEO. A few years ago I was asked to speak to my daughter’s class about what I do for a living–and I could not find a single children’s book about entrepreneurship, let alone one with a young girl as a protagonist. I vowed then and

My daughter started 1st grade at a new school today. She held hands with a friend she met just 10 mins prior, giving each other strength as they walked into their elementary experience. What would the 🌎 be like if we approached scary situations with the same empathy and trust?

Just spoke with another MD friend at the frontlines of #COVIDー19. A patient she admitted hrs ago just passed. She’s working around the ⏰, pumping 🍼 for her 👶🏻 between patients, and arranging childcare for her toddler. Thank you to our unsung heroes at the frontlines of care.

Forget the warm intro-- I have so much respect for the cold email. Some of the most valuable people in my orbit (founders, colleagues, partners) came through a cold email. It shows hustle and grit to send it, and humility and openness to respond. That makes for a winning combo.

As an early stage VC, it's my job to find the diamonds in the rough. It's one thing to chase heat or go after known entities, but when you seek out the raw attributes in a founder that you KNOW will translate into success, you run towards it. And that requires an open-mind. 🧵

VCs spend all day every day talking to founders. Every now and then I have to stop and remember how extraordinary each one is. It is rare and brave and difficult and exceptional to start a company. Whether or not we invest, I learn so much from these inventors of the future.

Just got a cold e-mail from a 16-year old pitching his background and story via a 2-min Loom, and let's just say there are some great lessons we can all take a page from on storytelling, gumption, and ambition.
