3 years done, 3 to go! Very happy & humbled that I’ve been reappointed by @SadiqKhan as Deputy Mayor of Communities & Social Justice - here to serve London's communities & promote equality. It's been an amazing journey so far & I couldn't imagine doing anything else right now

Notting Hill Carnival is a vital part of London’s cultural life - a celebration of Caribbean heritage and the diversity that defines our city. Proud to see it return this year with support from City Hall & others, honouring those who’ve carried its legacy through generations.

I want to join the Mayor in welcoming new Hongkongers to our city. My thanks to @hackneychinese for bringing together @nathanlawkc, @SimonCh15198572, @benedictrogers, @NeilJamesonUK & others today to discuss how we can ensure advice & services get to Hongkongers who need them.

This is so important. Those seeking to create chaos this weekend & undermine peaceful protest about the existence and persistence of racial injustice must not be allowed to do so. Black voices must be heard and we must feel safe when speaking. The far right will not silence us
To anyone planning to join #BlackLivesMatter protests over the coming days: for you and your families safety, please stay at home and find a safe way to make your voice heard. To the extreme far-right groups hijacking this crucial cause: Londoners have no time for your hatred.

So had my vaccination today. Is actually quite an emotional process as was both nervous & excited & so incredibly grateful to the volunteers and NHS staff who made me feel so at ease - thankyou! So glad I've done it & for those of you still unsure, it really is simple & painless

I was honoured to attend @BlackGirlFest yesterday. As London’s 1st Black female Deputy Mayor, I know more than ever, that there will be many more Black female leaders to come. Thankyou @paulaakpan and @NKrystal for allowing me to share a space with so many wonderful Black women.

133,000 children & young people are living undocumented in London. It's another Windrush scandal waiting to happen. Many of these young Londoners qualify for residency or citizenship but costs are needlessly high. We call on Government to give them the support they need.
As Deputy Mayor of London, I urge the government to pay attention to the crisis of ‘undocumented’ children bit.ly/2sdhgKr

From today, women in the UK are essentially working for free - and for Black women the #paygap is even bigger.   To end pay discrimination, we need pay transparency. At City Hall we publish our gender pay gap and our ethnicity pay gap.   As an employer, you can too. #EqualPayDay

At City Hall we stand against Islamophobia and promote a socially integrated London. Projects like Muslim Girls Fence @Maslaha challenge perceptions of Muslim women. One of the many programmes we fund using the power of sport to tackle social issues at the root. #SportUnites

Young Londoners are struggling without legal status in the UK, despite many of them being born here or living here for most of their lives. Our new report on undocumented Londoners explores the barriers they face in securing their futures, caused by Government policies and cuts

Today, 200 experts attended a hybrid emergency summit with us, to discuss the far-reaching consequences of the Illegal Migration Bill. This Bill will undermine vital protections, do huge damage to vulnerable people seeking sanctuary & will hand power to people traffickers.

Great to have the 'Windrush' Overground line. Timely recognition of this generations contributions. However, justice will not be served until Govt rights the wrongs of the scandal & compensates victims & descendants. Letter from @SadiqKhan to the PM supporting campaigners calls.
