I commend the High School League on their decisions today. There is no way they could please everyone & they did what they thought was right. We don’t have to agree with them, but they allowed all kids the chance to play this year. This is about the kids! Let’s stay positive!

This has been a very devastating & gut wrenching day. I can’t explain in words how BAD I feel for our TEAM, our COMMUNITY, our PARENTS, & our SENIORS! A bright spot is no one can take away an undefeated season for these young men.(28-0) Some things are out of our control. THANKS!

“Hardest thing to do in basketball is not making a three, dunking, or defending someone. It’s putting one’s ego aside & truly immersing oneself in a TEAM. Truly trusting (coaches, teammates). Putting personal glory aside for the team. Whatever it takes”

A HUGE THANK YOU to all who believed in my coaching these past 28 years in Perham. I have been blessed with GREAT players, an AWESOME and LOYAL staff, and good community support. With that being said, I have accepted the MN State Fergus Men’s Coaching position for next season.

This is where my head basketball coaching career started almost 38 years ago. Many good memories in this home of the Oriole gym. It is located in Upham, North Dakota.

BASKETBALL COACHES: Why don’t we all put one of our best man sets/ zone sets out there for any and all coaches during this very difficult time? Let’s see how many we can get out there over the weekend. This one I got from Coach Prohm.

Teri and I are so HAPPY and PROUD to be a grandma and grandpa for the first time! Nate and Brandi brought Mckinley Kay Holleman into this world on April 3, 2019. She is a blessing to have in our lives!

People are asking me why we lost AGAIN. AGAIN? This team didn't lose many times because we were 29-1 this season & 56-4 over 2 years. How many of you asking would like to be 29-1? A BETTER team beat us that night! Plain & simple! VERY Proud of EVERY team I have coached in Perham!

As I get ready to retire after 37 years in the classroom, I need to THANK all my students, parents of those students, all my colleagues I worked with, and administration who gave me a chance in this wonderful profession. Perham has been so good to my family.

I can’t explain in words what this guy has meant to me and the Perham Basketball Program the past 28 years. He truly exemplifies character, loyalty, and positive leadership. His teams won over 500 games. He has decided to step down and spend more time with his family. Great man!

After a long discussion the other day, this 20 year coach (Brent Hanson)on my staff has decided to step away and be a basketball dad for his daughter. He has been a rock in our program, and I can’t thank him enough for all the time he has given. Best of luck to him! Thank you!

The time of the year to bring this one back! “Hardest thing to do in basketball is not making a three, dunking, or defending someone. It’s putting one’s ego aside & truly immersing oneself in a TEAM. Truly trusting (coaches, teammates). Putting personal glory aside for the team.
