Early Cornish swim and reflection on fact it was 20 years ago today I left rehab and entered my new recovery life... it was a little scary... but it was freedom... it was the start... 🎉

The case for Remain is fabulous. We stay with our friends, we prosper, our children are free to roam & learn across a continent where our grandparents fought for exactly that. Why is nobody making this case?

A few years ago our children could work, travel and live all over Europe. Now they're being told they are 'snowflakes' and should 'do National Service' by a generation that has failed them, failed the planet, failed us all.

Masterstroke! The news just breaking that Zelensky is off to meet the King is, by some margin, the best British PR move since.... well.... forever?

It's sad the UK is not a part of the EU, sad no British MEPs there today to cheer Zelensky, sad we have been so diminished by Brexit. We have left a superpower. What for?

If a Labour Prime Minister and Labour Chancellor were on holiday during an economic crisis like this the Daily Mail, Telegraph, Express, Sun et al would have helicopters with cameras over their vacation homes.

The PM lost the moral authority to impose lockdown when he failed to fire Cummings. That decision is one of the great-post war errors by a sitting Prime Minister: people will die who would have lived.

I edited your paper in that era Harry and don’t recognise this as fact at all. The @maitlis speech tonight was entirely right, Brexit could not have happened without liars and charlatans being given the oxygen of unchallenged publicity.
Funny how there were no posh telly crowd speeches decrying the fact the entire BBC strategy was for many years set by a Gordon Brown-era Labour Cabinet Minister who sat on this hallowed BBC Board.

In a nutshell, Elon Musk is a threat to democracy. Here it is. Black and white.

We had that. It was called the EU.
The way to avoid a border in Ireland is to have an overall UK-EU trade deal based on mutual recognition of standards, veterinary checks etc. Those are the talks we ought to be holding. The delay is not on Britain’s side.

Speaker getting one of the biggest kickings in Fleet Street history tonight... but it is these papers that created this mess, not him. They misled readers and led them to disaster.

There is more bravery, more humanity, more love in Richard Radcliffe’s eyes today than Boris Johnson, a coward and a liar, will ever, ever know.
My shot of Richard Radcliffe today, after 13 days with no food. Taken outside the embassy. #FreeNazanin

Dominic Cummings skillfully manipulated the media yesterday, creating a fake news brawl around Matt Hancock and then attacking the BBC: All to take attention away from a child on the floor of a hospital. It worked and won the day. But why are current editors allowing this?

I’ve been shocked at two dinners recently when Tories of influence have told me privately “Varadkar isn’t bright” and “the Irish will blink” and it seems, amazingly, that this is the actual policy of HMG under Johnson. They are anti-Irish, arrogant, dangerous and wrong.
