I think it has something to do with the fact that the best verbal communicators often get ahead, setting the expectation/culture around communication versus the slower, more intentional, and often more effective written communication that more orgs need...
i just started running 2 years ago and ran my first half marathon (SF) last year.
The best advice i got was - slow down. Basically aim to keep your heart rate below 160bpm
That's when I first experienced runners high
idk about cool, but i dont gasp for air
1st publication on @beehiiv went live today!
Switched over from convertkit with the guidance of @denk_tweets .
- more customizable than convertkit
- growth is built into the product, which is really nice
- mix of substack, convertkit, and medium?
- community seems much tighter
Update on my wife and I's local @beehiiv newsletter! We're now at almost 500 subs.
Growth has almost all been WOM and organic. Spikes when someone randomly posts on the town's facebook page.
After talking with dozens of PR specialists and journalists we were told there was no story until our first raise. Excited to see that folks like @agazdecki think differently.
Bootstrapping is a story in and of itself. Esp for POC founders with no network or family with $$. 💚
Bootstrappers.com live on @ProductHunt, the publication for bootstrapped startups.
There's 1000s of bootstrapped startups building really profitable businesses and that's amazing. Major media shouldn't be reserved for VC backed startups.

📌 1/8 Why does @Switchyards work so well? For those unfamiliar, Switchyards is a “neighborhood work club.” They have 11 locations across the major neighborhoods in Atlanta.
the comments are so wildly divided:
1. I hate you (and prob jealous) for showing off
2. How do I get one/where'd you find yours
Happiness:$ ratio is high with this
today I was having a crazy day and called my dad. he's in restaurants and commercial real estate.
he just closed on a new business and told me he wants to brand it and expand to 10 more locations.
dude is like 60 and his ambition has only grown.

yeah but that's just the beginning - you need to improve your overall VO2 max and you do that by staying in "zone 2" cardio.
I went from around 14min miles to like 9 minutes (not that its great, but much better than where I started)
