I just want to thank all those who have followed the twitter discourse about @BBCSingers There’s clearly much more to come but to say this has been the worst day professionally in many a year. Sign the petition and #hope

I think we need a mass gathering of voices to shout in UNISON for our friends in #Ukraine. @TheBachChoir and all my choral conductor friends and singers, we need to do this very soon with all the publicity we can muster. Yes?

Moving to have been part of @letmusicliveuk peaceful protest in Parliament Square for the forgotten freelance musicians. Great to have so much support from so many wonderful musicians.

This made me smile. Yet another use of the great melody.

What a privilege to have directed ⁦@BBCSingers⁩ on ⁦@BBCRadio3⁩ with the marvel and delightful ⁦@SteveRosenberg⁩ in his sublime Valentina’s Song. He is quite a pianist too accompanying the Singers incredibly sensitively and without any score!

So sad to hear that Sir Stephen Cleobury passed away on St Cecilia’s day. A dedicated servant to church music, tireless in his quest for excellence so cruelly taken so soon after his retirement. He will be sorely missed. RIP.

This is the space-age, mind boggling, new organ in St Peter’s Malmo. No chance of anything going wrong then....?

It’s really appalling and so sad for all involved. I’m at a loss in wondering why our country is seemingly prepared to wield such #cultural #vandalism as we are experiencing. It’s tough everywhere but there have to be red lines and we’ve crossed them.
    Replying to @davidhconductor @BBCSingers and 3 others
So sorry, David. Such sad news.

It’s vital we find paths which will lead everyone back to #singing in whatever sized groups in late June. Working with @DCMS and other bodies MUST happen in the coming weeks. Write to local MP and anything which will assist 40 thousand choirs to return to singing SAFELY.

Having just collected neighbour Dorothy’s shopping list, in her 103rd year and still digging up her potatoes, she pointed out she’s now lived through the reigns of 4 monarchs: #GeorgeV, #GeorgeVI #Elizabeth2 and now #CharlesIII .Truly extraordinary. I think I need to sit down.

Exciting. On my way to #London for @TheBachChoir first in person rehearsal tonight for #Bach #Inspired project. Good luck to all other choirs and conductors in returning to singing. It’s been a long time!

What an incredible day it was. Stunning in all respects and particularly to the musicians @wabbey @WAbbeyChoir & in #Windsor, their directors and organists for flawless singing, conducting and playing. It showed just why music is SO important. It was deeply moving. Thank you.

Well it’s the dreaded two lines! Isolation for me till the New Year. I feel ok and always sensed leading anything like a normal life would make this more likely. Happy Christmas to all Tweeters and let’s hope ‘22 will be a vast improvement on ‘21.

So sad to hear Francis Jackson has died, aged 104. What a remarkable man, musician, composer, a stunning organist and wonderful human being to everyone who had the privilege of knowing him. RIP Francis.
