BREAKING: Having achieved nothing in many months of lockdown, today some good news. I have helped reunite a Syrian child with their mum in Britain. It is the single greatest achievement of my life.
There are thousands of Syrian children like the little one we helped this week, there is much more to be done. But for the child whose life we have transformed, for the family we reunified, for the love we have spread, I am grateful all the same. #chooselove
Politicians, civil servants and exemplary British officials overseas have worked around the clock to make this reunion possible. Words will never be enough to thank them. And we don’t thank our politicians and civil servants enough.
