What happened last night was not funny. Far-left activists disrupted the event, which then had to be stopped for security reasons.
This is done to intimidate people and suppress free speech. I won't stand for it.
Would we see the same reaction if the activists were far-right?
Reform's vision for society:
Young people are too highly paid.
Working people need to work harder.
The public services you rely on are too well resourced.
The rich are paying too much tax.
Not exactly hope and change is it?
If you listened to Conservative MPs in the Chamber today, you would be forgiven for thinking that sending your child to a state school was some kind of horrible punishment.
I am proud of my state education. Less so of the Tories' legacy of lack of investing in it.
The left simply has to reckon with the fact that, like it or lump it, this is how most people feel about the small boat issue.
Condescending people or shouting them down has seldom won an argument in politics.
The government must sense the urgency of this issue and grip it.
I defy anyone to listen to this interview with @AngelaRayner and reach any other conclusion than that the Deputy Prime Minister has tried to do the right thing at every turn in a complex, technical area of tax policy.
