Always the best practice of the year! No basketballs just underclassman telling each Senior how they have impacted their lives. They spend 4/5 months a year together 2+ hours a day. Basketball is secondary to their relationships! Only practice I hope they remember forever
- When @b_roc0 told me he was committing to @HokiesMBB it may have been the best day of my career. It was his dream. Watching a young man work his work his tail off&accomplish his dream is the ultimate! Congrats, Blacksburg. You won’t know what you have until you see it live!!
- Got to the gym for day 2 of of our showcase. The place was trashed. Especially floor level. Was going to leave it until organizers arrived so went to my office. I hear a ball bouncing later. @b_roc0 picked the whole gym up prior to getting shots up. Special young man!
- Funny, we were told that Brandon wouldn’t get noticed playing for Etowah. Now he has more power 5s recruiting him than high schools. Anyone that said he wouldn’t get big offers unless they played for your school…you never believed in how great he is and will continue to be
- Our society tells you to quit when it gets tough. It tells you transfer if you aren’t playing. It never encourages you to stick it out for 3 years...So thankful my guys did!! #senior2019 @AlexForde1 @alex_carroll10 @Matthew_Lane_ @JaxonEtter @inkyjohnson they went heavy!!
- My guys (past/present) know I love & appreciate them. But when our black athletes (my family) wanted a coach to acknowledge&speak out against systematic inequality in USA, I was publicly silent. That was wrong. I was wrong. In a battle for equality. Every voice matters!
- This one will sting for awhile. But I have never been more proud of a group of young men and a community that loves all that they stand for on and off the court. They made me better they made our school better and they have nothing to hang their heads about. So proud!No matter what happens, the love and support our community has shown us on this wild ride means we can never lose! Special place and special folks!! We see you @EtowahBaseball and everyone else!! Let’s have a day!!
00:00 - In a world where no one tries because they are scared to fail. 80 young men gave everything they had knowing failure was an option. They may not have made this team but their courage and bravery will lead to success later in life. I still hate it. Worst few days of the year.
- Appreciate all the well wishes tonight. I’m too loud and critical. But I love my kids and community.... So... this picture means the world. Never knew our fans or players knew it was 100. We could have easily lost. But they still painted up! They always believe in us!!

- Sometimes it doesn’t end the way you want but I love these men and always will. What an honor to stand with 18 guys who make me a better man. It doesn’t feel like it now but I know there is so much more than winning a basketball game in life. But man I hurt for my guys
- Most people doubted us after our start to the season. But these 8 never did. They were winning championships since 5th grade…TOGETHER!! So proud of these 8 young seniors and their impact on me and this community!! @TipperRyan @Kyletipper11 @EtowahHS @JrEaglesBball
- What a night!!! School history ✅ Incredible support from staff, admin, alumni, community, and most of all our STUDENTS!!! ✅ And the best part is I get at least 3 more days with these young men!! ✅ Love every single one of my guys and I’m so proud of them!!
