Excited to be joining @coachhawkins15 and @TrollsMBball I’d like to thank my bro @bopat10 for allowing me to come in and be a part of the @Merrillville_BB basketball family. I had so much fun with this coaching staff and players this past season. This group is full of energy!!

The conversations I’ve had with college coaches has been more about guys toughness, can they play defense and how they are as teammates. Not much about points they’ve scored. So parents and players make sure guys have great body language, being great teammates and playing hard.

I will be coaching Team Indiana out of Northwest Indiana against Team Illinois. Keon Thompson, Kyle Ross, Harold Woods Darrell Reed, Chris Mantis, Koron Davis and Dorian Harris all prospects. We will share a link tomorrow for those college coaches that are interested.

Not gone Cap as the kids would say @breecewalls is one heck of a person and competitor. Had the pleasure of being around him all last summer!! True gentleman!! You will be successful in whatever you choose to do!!

There are some really NAIAs that have produced pros as well. A lot NCAA schools started at the NAIA level. NAIAs have partnerships with Nike and Adidas with NIL. Don’t get lost in chasing the wrong things. These NAIAs will start looking past y’all too. It’s tough at all levels.

Yesterday I made the decision to end this tremendous run at Calumet as the Head Coach of the Boys Basketball Team. This was my first Head Coaching experience at the Varsity level. I want to thank my family first. I also want to thank the school administration for their support.

HS 🏀s when you go to any College Basketball Camp especially the Elite ones, do the little stuff. Seen a kid today sprint to help his teammate up, passed to the right guy. Made other guys look better than what they were. Played hard on both ends until he was exhausted.

Taking a step back and becoming an Asst at Merrillville has brought on unexpected blessings and relationships with players and coaches. Being a HC is work. This past season has helped me grow. This season is the most time I’ve spent with my family in 6 years. 💙 thanks @bopat10
