    I’ve been thinking about feet a lot—stay with me.🧵 It began when I started seeing this (⬇️) in our pitching classes. That’s not ideal for force production or efficient rotation downstream, I know, but considering how to address it led me to another thought.

    I feel terrible for all the athletes who had careers cut short today. I’d encourage them to remember this: It wasn’t a waste & it wasn’t for nothing. The work, the adversity, the ups & downs; it all made you a better person & it built relationships that will last a lifetime.

    Pitchers, this is a great opposing pitcher chart that was posted by @CoachSheets3. Learn what the opposition is looking for and make their job hard. This is a checklist of variables you should be able to cover while managing the running game—count, timing, type, etc.

    Yesterday our starting pitcher went 7 IP on 93 pitches in his third outing of the year—he threw very well. We were able to get 90+ pitches out of him because he religiously tracks & plans his WL. He’ll continue to do so & will be ready for more next outing. We won’t be guessing.

    Lot of folks making a lot of assumptions and judgements based on one pitch with no context. Looks to me like a kid who is TRAINING with intensity and trying to raise his ceiling. People who talk mess about that can kick rocks.
