00:00- It was wonderful welcoming children and parents from the Asian Community Center to City Hall for a tour earlier today. I look forward to welcoming them back to City Hall again soon!
- Misinformation that targets marginalized communities had devastating consequences. Today, I am calling on @nypost to formally retract and issue an apology for falsely identifying the shooter yesterday as a Chinese man. See my statement below.
- Today I saw a sign talking about rising costs driving prices up at a local 8th Avenue business. Right now it’s hard to put food on the table and. It’s also making it harder to stay in our homes as cost of living goes up. Thank you @RepDanGoldman for speaking on this issue with me
- It was great helping @MetCouncil distribute food ahead of Passover to over 400 families today alongside @NYCGreenfield @NYCComptroller @KalmanYegerNYC @RepDanGoldman @BrooklynDA @WilliamColton8!
- For too long, our district has lacked seats for our students. I’m delighted to have announced alongside @doechancellor and @pretto_david the opening of a new public school in the neighborhood. Ps 331 will provide a strong education for hundreds of students in our district. 1/2
00:00- I am proud to have partnered with @aceprogramsny to clean up our district — in our first week we have made incredible progress towards cleaning up the 43rd District!
- Thrilled to attend tonight’s Chanukah Celebration at City Hall tonight with my @NYCCouncil colleagues. Congrats to all the honorees and the performances were just wonderful. Wishing everyone a joyous and healthy holiday season! Chag Sameach! 🕎
- Congrats to @UJAfedNY and @MetCouncil on the opening of the Brooklyn Hub, a social services hub and digital food pantry. This hub, on the border of #BoroughPark and #Bensonhurst is a boon for our diverse community, with services provided in Yiddish, Hebrew, and Chinese.
- 🎉IT’S OFFICIAL🎉 History is made on the first day of AAPI Hertiage month — under NYC Law May 10th is now Chinese American Railroad Workers Memorial Day. Thank you to all my colleagues and all who made this possible!
- I would like to thank @DOEChancellor for visiting our community last night at the CEC 21 Town Hall and hearing our concerns. Our community emphasized support for more school funding, the need to approve the contract for SHSAT, and our opposition to cuts to the DREAM program.
- I am proud to vote “YES” on INT-0228 which would require @NYCAging to provide information to seniors about the support services our city provides to older adults including legal services, housing, financial assistance, food assistance, care coordinators, and social workers. 1/2
