These are some of the arrest records for 178 Venezuelan migrants detained in Guantanamo this month. Others seem to have no record at all.

Before being deported to Venezuela, the men started a 5-day hunger strike to protest Guantanamo conditions.
“We immigrated for a better life for our families,” said Yoiner Jose Purroy Roldon, 21. “But the truth is that they took many things from us, treating us like criminals.”
Trump said the immigration detention facility would be for “vicious” criminals. Officials said that alligators and pythons are waiting for anyone who escapes.
But hundreds have no criminal record. Others have traffic violations.

We interviewed families or attorneys and reviewed legal documents for 18 people.
Six seem to have no record, five were only charged with illegal entry. Several were detained in scheduled appointments for those seeking asylum or legal entry.
One of the 178 is only 19 years old.
The Natural History Museum today has 255 brains, just a portion of at least 30,700 human remains.
This includes the brains of a Sami woman named Mary Sara, Indigenous Filipinos who died at the 1904 World’s Fair, Black people who died in DC, and others from around the world.
So far in FY2025, 8 people have died in ICE custody. Half of them have been in Florida.

Isidro Pérez, 75, was paroled into the US from Cuba in 1966. The mechanic and fisherman raised 7 children.
