Ok, unpopular opinion, so tread carefully: Why are we scolding regular people for what they donate money to? People donating a couple of dollars to a platform they use regularly is not the problem, who told you that they haven't also donated to one of the charities you support?- Replying to @clinicallynooneOn top of that, shaming people will only make them less prone to help the causes you want them too, but I guess it's fine since you feel better about yourself, right? And no, this is not because i donated to ao3, the only donation I ever done in my life has been 5$ to Wikipedia
- Replying to @feathers_67Exactly, like, 300k is not much for a site that big (user count wise) Ao3 is 99% text, so the site isn't as costly as others, but being available to all those users still needs hardware that has to be maintained and bills that have to be paid (not counting programmers)
- I'm not saying people can't be weirded out, I'm just talking about the methods they go about sharing those thoughts Also, ao3 has 7m users (might be incorrect but this is what I found), that's around 0.04$ a person, Wikipedia raises around 3$ a person

- Replying to @royrexicWhile I can see your point any type of censorship is wrong, as it doesn't fix the problem and most of the time actively makes it worse On top of that you can go to your local library and find at least 3 books with those components, art has always portrayed stuff like that

- Replying to @V0MITC0FFIN_I didn't say they don't have internet, just that they don't actively know the political views of the moderators I can assure you, people that donate to the platform because they just use it to read exist
- Replying to @V0MITC0FFIN_Sure, but we know where the money is going, into developing and maintaining the site, we know because it's a nonprofit, so they can't use that money for anything else and have to show their finances It's not like the 300k have been sent to buy weapons
