The more I am learning about the Palestinian struggle, the more I discover about its abundant biodiversity. So, I made this to highlight some of the birds found in Palestine.
One day, all life in Palestine will be free. 🇵🇸
This is the Palestinian Sunbird. It was adopted as Palestine’s national bird in 2015 after Israel attempted (& failed) to rename the species & it lost in a public vote campaign for Israel’s national bird.
The Palestinian Sunbird is a symbol of freedom & resilience.
what i love about southeast asia is our rich heritage with traditional stilt houses that maximise wind ventilation, adopt nature-based solutions & are resilient to climatic conditions.
A reminder that olive trees contribute 14% to Palestine’s economy. Olive trees have been there before the Israeli occupation. Those trees are sacred to Palestinians.
When Israel settlers do this, they are trying to erase as much of Palestinian identity as possible.
it’s not selfish to feel sad that ur early 20s have been wasted, road trips postponed, events cancelled or physical classes stopped bc of the pandemic. it’s okay to miss & be publicly angry about them. the failures of this government robbed us of all those joys.
Southeast Asia is currently facing unprecedented extreme heat. Our region is warming faster than the global average.
Climate change is causing more frequent heatwaves that are more intense & longer. We must build resilience & call for climate reparations from the Global North.
this is very sad. wildlife sightings in human areas are increasing bc of the floods. they must feel lost & confused.
i know things are overwhelming right now but if you see any wildlife stuck in drains, trapped somewhere or in need of help, please contact PERHILITAN!
why do i have expats in my mentions telling me that the heatwave in SEA is not that serious? philipines suspended in-person classes. laos permits it too. thailand issued warnings of severe conditions. 40°c is being forecast almost everywhere here. the fuck are you talking about?
