- Addy Brown is our 6A girls player of the year. The supremely talented junior averaged 15 points, 9 rebounds, and 4 assists per game, as Derby advanced all the way to the 6A state championship before losing to Washburn Rural.
- Avery Johnson has looked amazing for Maize so far this year, and that was the case yet again last week. The senior K-State commit had 6 touchdowns through the air alongside 277 passing yards as the Eagles dominated Newton 49-0. Maize continues to look dangerous this year.
- As basketball season comes to a close, we at Central Kansas Hoops have decided to expand our horizons. We will no longer be covering just basketball, as we will add softball, baseball, volleyball, and football to the sports we cover. This comes in an effort to continue to build..

- T.J. Williams is our 6A boys player of the year. Williams averaged 13 points per game on 54% shooting, as well as 5 rebounds, as he helped an amazing Heights team win a 6A state championship over Blue Valley Northwest.
- Congratulations to the volleyball teams that won their respective leagues! It's been a great season thus far, and we wish the best if luck to all teams as we head into the playoffs.

- Isaiah Atwater played very well in Maize South's blowout win over rival Maize. The senior had 24 points, four rebounds, four assists, and a steal as the #1 ranked team in 5A cruised to a win over the Eagles, winning 70-38.
- Our girl's co-player of the Tuesday night games: Dominique Schutte, Sophomore, Halstead Despite the loss to a very good Clearwater team, Schutte had a very good showing, pouring in 27 points in Halstead's 56-52 loss to the #8 ranked Lady Indians.
- While they are not in our jurisdiction, we would like to congratulate Eudora softball for taking sown Bishop Miege in the 4A state championship! They are in the hearts of public schools everywhere.Eudora! 4A State Softball Champs. Defeat Bishop Miege 4-2
