This is Osloโ€™s new PUBLIC LIBRARY. Itโ€™s unbelievable. Completely free, open to everyone until 10pm every day. There is a wine bar. Views to die for. All the books.

This is very cool: a shipwreck has just been discovered at the bottom of Norwayโ€™s biggest lake, Mjรธsa, at 410m depth. The shape suggests it may be as old as the 1300s! Source/Photos: NRK and FFI/NTNU

Itโ€™s full of study spaces and reading nooks, places you can eat your lunch & charge your phone. Borrow books, music, films, etc.

Shuffleboard with a view, anyone? This is basically a gorgeous communal living room for the city, with books.

Or you could play the drums or guitar. (Itโ€™s only just opened and thereโ€™s a pandemic so not everything is up and running just yet!)

Seriously: these oak leaves are 8000 years old. They were found in the soil sample in Garryโ€™s box from the Solent sea bed and were once part of the Mesolithic ground surface. Mind boggling!!
Whatโ€™s in the box, Garry? The contents came from the seabed and seriously blew my mind when I helped excavate the sample in the lab! ๐Ÿคฏ Find out what we discovered tonight on Digging for Britain, BBC2 at 8pm! @maritimetrust @theAliceRoberts

Exciting new boat discovery in Norway! This time, an almost perfectly preserved LOG BOAT. Why is this exciting? And does it relate to the Vikings? Repton? And the Silk Roads? Maybe.... bear with me: #riverkings /1 Photos: Leon Arne Kleiva via Facebook/Arkeologi i Norge
