People see "allocator" in my bio & DM on what it takes to start an equities HF. My views below. These will sound painfully obvious to most of #Fintwit but are difficult in practice. In my experience most managers, even those w/ pedigree, are upended by violating 1+ of these.

I lucked out that my wife isn’t a big Instagram person b/c the opposite looks painful. I watch my guy friends grit their teeth as their wives/gfs take the same pic 8x from slightly different angles. Food pics, duck face, mirror selfie. These ppl are all 40+ too, lol.

As a homeowner, I have to be honest- it’s overrated. I feel like too many ppl I talk to are legit depressed b/c they don’t own/are unable to afford it, but really not a big deal if you let your savings compound in the mkt. Build net worth in the interim & be patient.

I’m hearing from a lot more HF ppl who either recently lost their jobs or quit, with absolutely zero idea of what’s next. Strange trend given how many random pod shops exist now & these aren’t exactly dumb ppl. More ppl should prob have a backup plan as HF industry has changed.

What’s the best place to spend 3-6 months of the year? Ideally in the US & please not Florida. I have no reason to be in NYC year round & even though I love the city deep down, I’m fed up with it.
