00:00 - Yet another bewildering veto by this Governor. @GavinNewsom just vetoed our bill to remove the punishment of jail & criminal charges for not paying transit fare because one operator told him that fare evasion is a good indicator of whether someone will commit other crimes.
- a bill to eliminate parking minimums near transit in California continues to face opposition from @Western_Center who claim eliminating minimums without an affordability requirement will harm low income folks. But in study after study, ending parking mins improves affordability.
- Culver is TWELVE votes away from being able to change the voting age to 16... 😱
- well that didn’t take long. Culver City’s new conservative Council just moved to agendize creating a 41.18 esque ban on encampments in Culver City and reverse the $25 minimum wage for healthcare workers just passed by the previous council in this SAME meeting just hours before.
