- Looking at Black voters in Milwaukee, Detroit, Philadelphia, and Atlanta, it's striking that people who have been treated the worst by our democracy consistently do the most to save it.
- Guess what they don’t do in South Korea? Make fun of people for wearing masks in a pandemic. They’ve had 300 deaths.
- The fact that Mitch McConnell - a man with an unrelenting commitment to undermine America's first Black president - could lose his veto power over American democracy bc of Raphael Warnock, John Ossoff and Stacey Abrams is some kind of American justice.
- Trump being defeated by Obama's Vice President is the most appropriate way for this to come to an end.
- It's not just Trump. None of this - the 100,000 dead, the tens of millions unemployed, the social fabric shredded, the global reputation collapsed - would have happened without the full support of the Republican Party.
- It’s telling that the last two Democratic Presidents began their presidencies with a “Recovery Act” and a “Rescue Plan” because their inheritances were so catastrophic.
- We really need a new President.
- When you hear that China did a better job containing COVID-19 because it’s authoritarian, remember South Korea. The issue is competence, not democracy.
