    Don’t Look Up has its moments but the Badiou/ Roland Emmerichian idea that climate change is an “Event” is all wrong (it’s also not helpful to call it a Hyperobject for that matter). It’s an uneven slide into increasingly intolerable new normals and needs to be addressed as such.

    The Guardian reporting on the call from 3,500 artists for the @ChristiesInc AI art auction to be cancelled. It quotes the open letter: “Many of the artworks you plan to auction were created using AI models that are known to be trained on copyrighted work without a licence.

    Lockdowns don't “solve” the pandemic. They reset the clock, buying time for cities to prepare for inevitable 2nd and 3rd waves by raising treatment capacity and availability of testing, etc. Sadly most countries are choosing to not learn the lessons of past systemic failures
