Much of conservatism is just misdirected nostalgia.

Don't know why anyone would be happy about this. SpaceX is the only organization currently building a rocket that can take humans to Mars. You can dislike Musk, but the organization is made up of thousands of humans whose efforts should be praised.

I don't think the testimony of a traumatized 8 year old is admissible in any way. The fact this leaked is a scandal, and may taint the jury pool.

There are no non-political decisions. Only dumdums think that.

That he committed the crime is beyond reasonable doubt. The problem is that the SC has now set a precedent that ineffective assistance of counsel and a racially prejudiced jury do not create a need for a new trial. This is a disaster.

It’s called induced demand. Urban planners knew this decades ago. What Nairobi needs is high quality public transportation, not more highways. Problem is that people who can afford cars look down on public transport.

Most cultures do not place much value on self actualization. It is an inherently western concept, that I find very attractive as a non westerner. The world would be a much better place if more cultures encouraged this.

US congress is basically nonfunctional. It can never pass the number of laws, each year, that would be necessary to replicate the work of federal agencies sans Chevron. It is nothing like Europe or Australia where parliaments actually function. Wyoming has 2 senators.

Why did the fed not stabilize my neighbor’s auto/home loan when he got let go? Pretty stupid of the fed to have a hardworking man go bankrupt because of short term illiquidity, no?

Yes. An extra $300 a month is a big deal. An extra $600 a month for a single mother with 2 children is huge.

Or his crushing of Paul Ryan in 2012. He fell off a cliff.
