    They nodded and made kind faces. One student said that’s what it’s always like for college students. After class a student waited to tell me they read my work in another class. Another disclosed they were having a hard time and asked advice. Be real. Your students will too.

    Did something unusual today. I told my students I was having a rough day. Booster shot hangover, tech problems, barely made it to class on time. I asked them to excuse me if I was less organized today. You know what they did?
