    8 million people live in NYC & 65 million more visit every year – cars can never serve as the primary means of getting around a city as big & bustling as ours. Congestion pricing will allow us to build the robust, safe, and efficient public transit we need. Today is a victory.

    Ridiculous and indefensible to delay a (state-mandated!!) program designed to make our city safer, our people healthier, and our public transit more expansive and accessible for everyone. Congestion pricing is simply good governance.

    City of Yes is a modest plan. It should be the floor – not the ceiling – of our efforts to address this housing crisis.    I urge my colleagues in the City Council to hold the line, be bold, and pass City of Yes without carveouts.   If you're going to do anything: do more.

    Rats are everywhere because our trash is everywhere. You supply the feast, the guests come. Simple as that. Universal containerized trash on every city block is the only way for us to truly and completely rid our streets of rats.

    Today I disapproved 962-972 Franklin Ave. @BrooklynBotanic is sacred, and this one-of-a-kind community resource deserves one-of-a-kind consideration. I will not support any development here that will create additional shadow impacts. This proposal fails to meet that standard.
