- After many years of holding back the tide, the old girl can rest peacefully.
- It’s not me, I’m somewhat distracted trying to sort out world tourism , but I wish the club every success in the future, and whoever ends up at the helm can be assured of my continued support in every respect.
- John Hays, my business partner, mentor and friend has sadly died today . My thoughts are with his family and our colleagues across the country. John would have wanted us to get on with looking after our customers, so we will get on with that in his memory.

- Hey, don’t worry too much about exam results folks. Edjacation is grate, but it’s not life defining . I got 2 O grades (fishing and snooker) and managed to get through life . Be your best.
- My father. A boy of 19 signed up in Kilmarnock, and ended up a Welsh Fusileer. The proudest adopted Welshman you ever met. 🏴🏴
- My annual dinner with Denis Smith tonight. He still has a great affection for our town and club. How many can say they have played on the same grass as Pele, Eusebio and Best.
