That being said, Viktor did still allow this touch when he didn’t need to! Something about losing trust in a person you love but still wanting the warmth of their care for you even if you can’t be honest with them anymore. Gay ass. Look how ugly Jayce looks in this screenshot

-he knows it’s coming. This scene establishes that Jayce is only allowed to touch Viktor, both in this instance and previously, because Viktor allows it. Viktor didn’t stop Jayce from touching him in the past because he didn’t feel the need to.

It completely recontextualizes their dynamic imo. We see that Viktor has no problem forcefully enforcing his physical boundaries with Jayce. Jayce, upon this slap, immediately recognizes that he’s crossed a line and apologizes

First of all, I think it’s hilarious how chill Viktor is up until Jayce does a Classism. While waiting for Jayce, he looks over at the escalating conflict and is perfectly calm, just giving them a disapproving shake of the head and a Look lol

Then Jayce comes in all huffy and pissed, the framing of the scene literally has Jayce talking down to Viktor. Viktor maintains his composure throughout this exchange. He’s confused, but calm. He Does Not back down in the face of Jayce’s anger and upset, or even seem intimidated

We see Viktor give Jayce a side glance as he approaches to touch his back, as if contemplating whether or not to allow it, then looks forward as he lets the touch happen and moves on. We’ve seen that Viktor doesn’t even need to look at Jayce to slap his hand away-

Looking at Jayce and Viktor’s dynamic in s1 act 2&3 up until the bridge scene, it’s easy to read Jayce as unintentionally overbearing, bowling Viktor over with his personality/physicality.

Then Jayce Does A Classism, Viktor gets pissed and reminds him that he’s from the Undercity, gets up, and slaps Jayce’s hand away without even looking. He doesn’t look at Jayce even as he’s apologizing, and only looks when asked about Singed, giving Jayce a side glance as he lies

Right before his progress day speech, he slings his arm over Viktor’s shoulder with enough force to push him forward/stumble a bit. He moves his hand out to stop Viktor from moving/speaking after their presentation to Heimer & talking to the council

From the start of their partnership, we see that he’s very touchy with Viktor, and he maintains that all throughout s1. We never see Viktor protest, but we also never see him reciprocate.

Now I don’t think Viktor would have been able to leave the bridge without Jayce whether he wanted to or not. Marcus clearly knew who Viktor was and still detained him, Jayce was going to have to accompany him off regardless

It comes across as Jayce being the forceful one of their partnership, overpowering his meeker, more passive partner Viktor through both force of personality and physicality. Then we get the bridge scene.
