Inside the industrial park we found both a “re-education camp” and a detention centre. The latter has visible security features like watchtowers and wire fences. Both are surrounded by what are most likely factories and also a police station. #KarakaxList

We had a closer look at the largest “re-education camp” mentioned in the leaked #KarakaxList which is based at the south-east corner of an industrial park. (Satellite imagery 26.11.2019).
In 2018, each building in the “re-education camp” was fenced off and watchtowers were added. As noted in the #ChinaCables, these are typical security features of “re-education camps” in Xinjiang. However, in 2019, the fences and watchtowers were removed- unclear why. #KarakaxList
