A babysitter allowed our 4 year old to eat 11 packs of gummy bears today.
When my wife discovered this, she asked the babysitter why she allowed this to happen.
The response:
“She kept asking for more.”
I told my wife not to let that babysitter anywhere near our children

- We recently ran out of water bottles, 5 gallon water jugs, and the yogurt our kids eat for breakfast. I asked my wife what caused the breakdown in our household supply chain. I can't recommend strongly enough to not do the same should you find yourself in a similar situation.
- It’s beyond me why Lululemon would sue Costco over knockoff designs, claiming “customers incorrectly believe these infringing products are authentic Lululemon apparel.” By suing, Lululemon is basically admitting that a $20 knockoff is indistinguishable from the $130 pair they
- If the rumors about Rory McIlroy joining LIV for $850 million are true, it is over for the PGA Tour. The government of a foreign nation will have successfully used its balance sheet to orchestrate a hostile takeover of a major United States professional sport. At $850 million,
- My two oldest kids have been asking to sell lemonade. After an hour, the neighborhood security guard came up and said, “I hate to have to do this, but several neighbors have called asking me to shut down the lemonade stand.” There are some grumpy, miserable people out there.
- You can’t get a $1 million mortgage if you make $100K/year. You can’t get a $75K car loan if you make $35K/year. The fact that you can get $250K in student loans for a college degree where you’re expected to earn $40K/year is unacceptable and a complete failure of US society.

- Every coffee chain has turned into a custom milkshake chain, and it’s so unfortunate. In addition to the devastating health consequences of the population drinking milkshakes for breakfast, the wait time to get a normal cup of coffee has become untenable. We need a coffee chain
- We brought a nanny on vacation with us this weekend. Total game changer. There will be a nanny with us on every vacation we go on until our kids are much older. Makes no sense to spend a bunch of money on vacation only to be stressed and exhausted the whole time. I’d much
- Make it to the Olympics and be the 12th best swimmer out of 8 billion people in the world, and you win nothing. Be the 12th best plumber in a city of 1 million people, and you are set for life. Life is a game. Be careful which games you play.
- Alcohol addiction is scary. It's one of the few substances where quitting cold turkey can actually kill you. My friend's dad is a career alcoholic who decided to quit cold turkey. After a couple of days, he felt like he was dying. He woke up in the middle of the night in a
- I bought a portfolio of nine Section 8 houses with a close friend back in 2019, and we sold them in January 2024. In ~ 4.5 years of owning the properties, there were 4 good days: The day we bought, the day we refinanced, the day we received proceeds from an insurance claim
