Dak Prescott, the Quarterback of the Dallas Cowboys, just walked through the outfield at Dudy Noble. This is his home. These are his people.

Dear Mr. First Base Ump. We’ll take as much time as we want while rounding the bases.

Final tweet for a while... On March 6, 2000...@jimellismsu gave me a job working in sports. A guy I'd listened to on the radio my entire life. And he's treated me like a son. I cried tonight when I thought about my family...and I cried thinking about Jim. He deserves this moment.

Well all I can say is this…we took 49 guys to Athens who showed up to play football. Not sure what the outcome will be…but dadgum I love effort.

If that’s the last time. Thank you, @bednar_will. It’s been a pleasure to watch you pitch.

Mike has flipped to the back of the napkin for the second half. We’re working off the playlist called “the good sh*t”.

I gotta give Will credit. Never saw a guy throw a fumbled ball ten yards downfield.

While I broadcasting the State-LSU game on Sunday…got a text from my 15 yr old saying they’d won in their AAU tournament. “Hey daddy, hit a shot at the end to win it.” And then I get the video. She’s a hardworking, humble kid. Proud of her.

Tales from 9yr old baseball tourney. Game just ended. Intense dad talking to his son about his first at bat in the first inning. He’s using hitting jibberish I’ve never heard before. Finishes with “do you understand me?” And kid replies, “can I get some money for some nachos.”

My first broadcast at Mississippi State was softball. And we’ve had some great players come through this program. But for this program to win 2 games at the number 2 national seed is one of the great stories of sports history at Mississippi State.

When you grow up in a state without professional sports, these players sometimes become larger than life. When I was 8 (my son’s age now), I wanted to be like @Rafael_Palmeiro. Seemed crazy being able to introduce him to my son today.

I've had pleasure of broadcasting some cool moments....but for the guy who grew up an hour from here...and followed this program as a small kid...tonight may have been the coolest broadcast I've ever had. That was fun.

We lost Malfunction Junction on this date 14 years ago. If only today’s students understood the art being trapped there at 7:50 before an 8:00 exam. msstate.edu/state-spotligh…
