I'm like if Kafka's "The Metamorphosis" happened in reverse and a bug woke up one day and instead of scuttling about doing bug stuff it had to go earn money and learn social graces
I've seen many posts lately from young people feeling upset by sexuality in pop music. I've got a great new genre for you all:
Black metal.
Not only is it chaste (save for the rare "spooky sex ritual" act), listening to it will also ensure YOU are safe from ever having sex.
Steve Albini was one of the main architects of rock and punk music’s sound and direction for the last forty years. Far from wholesome yet someone who learned from his mistakes and grew, which is more than I can say about many people. What a strange, massive loss for music.
Last night I saw Acid Bath. They were one of my best friend’s favorite bands, but he didn’t live long enough to see them reunite. I had an extra ticket that nobody took and I’d like to think my pal Howard used it to sneak in with me. Incredible, cathartic experience.
I do not understand the framing of albums as "no skips." Even if some songs are better than others on an album, I'm going to listen all the way through to enjoy it as a complete piece of art. Isn't that how we do it, or has streaming ruined most people's attention spans?
