. @airindia how dare you give my mom’s business class seat to someone else on a long haul flight from Delhi to Washington DC? First telling her the seat doesn’t recline, then saying the seat is for the crew and then she finds someone else sitting there as she is sent to economy?

- Replying to @sarnaonwings and @airindiaYes! She was told all this prior to boarding, and given an economy seat. While boarding she saw someone else sitting in the seat she had booked!
- Replying to @airindiaIt’s been six hours since I posted this tweet. I will talk to you once my mother lands and I have spoken to her. If she hasn’t been given a business class seat/has had an uncomfortable journey in any way, we will discuss this further.
- Replying to @baavriHere is the update: they’ve compensated 75% of the fare + an upgrade voucher (what a joke). The ground staff at Delhi was extremely rude and behaved in a disgusting manner. My mother was listed in the flight manifest as a business class passenger, yet made to ride in economy. 1/4
- Replying to @baavriA business seat that was clearly indicated on mom’s boarding pass. My mother who has health issues and paid a higher fare to travel in comfort was actually told by the Delhi ground staff that her luggage would be taken off the plane if she didn’t simply take the economy seat. 3/4
- My mom’s seat was not given to crew, it was another passenger and she was relocated to an economy seat with fixed armrests. Extremely uncomfortable and unacceptable. The boarding pass had a business seat printed, and they hand wrote an economy seat number. Have shared w/ them.. @airindia how dare you give my mom’s business class seat to someone else on a long haul flight from Delhi to Washington DC? - Replying to @baavriThe crew on board, particularly one flight attendant Ms Kaur was extremely polite and understanding. She found a better economy seat during the flight for my mother. The ground staff at IAD offered apologies. The issue remains that a passenger was given my mother’s seat. 2/4
