- Update to the #GrandviewFire: Fire estimated at 40 ac., w/significant decrease in activity. Interior pockets of fuel continue to burn off due to dead/downed components. #AZFire #AZForestry #CoconinoCounty
Arizona Forestry working new start north of Flagstaff and west of US 89. #GrandviewFire is burning in remote country w/limited accessibility & est. 25-30 ac. Fire burning thru dead/down juniper & tumbleweeds at moderate rate of spread. Some isolated torching. Head of fire - Later this week, DFFM will begin reducing Tamarisk (Salt Cedar) within the Hazen Fire scar. We're working together with @azgfd to bring back native vegetation in the Gila River that's better for wildlife & reduces wildfire risk. For more information: bit.ly/4vb0FB7
