Academia deliberately uses convoluted language to gatekeep and be elitist and it does more harm than good. The average person should be able to read published academic papers and they should be easily accessible. Get rid of pay walls.

The Antiguan & Barbudan delegation may sometimes claim steelband as ours but we feel acceptance of the Senile Soucoyant is too harsh a punishment for our innocent transgression. We respectfully decline and pass the individual on to our brothers + sisters in St Christopher & Nevis

It's absolutely ridiculous that in 2021 workplaces in both the private and public sector ask for CXC results when individuals have Bachelor's and Master's degrees. If someone has a tertiary degree there is no reason CXC results should be on their resume
