- If by "obnoxious" you mean asking about legislation you seek to impose on the people of Arizona, then I plead guilty. "Ambushed?" Walking up to you? You remain free to walk away, as you did. I remain free to ask questions. Sorry if that bothers you as an elected official.Howie Fischer entered the senate chamber & as soon as we were gaveled out of session today, ambushed me at my desk. I have since asked the sergeant at arms to keep him away from me. He's a pushy obnoxious jerk & won't be allowed anywhere near me again. I only talk to #RealNews.
- REPORTERS ARE NOT ENEMIES OF THE PEOPLE. I am doing the same job I started in 1970: Keeping tabs on government officials, how they vote and how they spend taxpayer money. Please RT to everyone you know. We have to fight this ignorance that gives license to attack reporters.
- Repeat after me: @OANN is NOT a news operation. It is a political operation masquerading as legitimate reporting. Legitimate news operations do not raise money for political causes.
- Just wondering whether the folks who want an election do-over in Arizona (which can't legally happen as far as I can tell) also want a new vote on those legislative races that kept the Republicans in control of the House and Senate? Just askin'....
- So it turns out that vouchers will cost AZ $900M next school year (up 63%), fueled in part by kids who until now were in private schools paid on their parents' dime. And it turns out vouchers are NOT less than state aid to traditional public schools. tucson.com/news/local/sub…
- Thought for today: If a candidate of any party is unwilling to do interviews with anything other than "friendly" media, be very suspicious. It suggests they're not capable of handling tough questions - and dealing with tough issues.
- Feds tell @DougDucey either rescind your program giving COVID funds only to schools w/o mask mandates or we'll come in and take back our $163M you're using to fund it.
- Elections have consequences. In 2022, voters chose @GovernorHobbs. This year they get a chance to decide whether to oust two Supreme Court justices and defeat Prop 137, moves that would give her THREE picks (with retiring Justice Brutinel) to court. tucson.com/news/state-reg…
- Guns on college campuses? No on my watch says @GovernorHobbs as she vetoed @RJ4arizona bill (and five others on Tursday, bringing her tally up to 72 so far this session). tucson.com/news/state-and…
- Uh, you realize it is the @CorpCommAZ that sets the rates (and determines amount of renewables) -- and that the panel is controlled by Republicans, right?Replying to @Kelly4Humanity and @Rach_ICWell, I’ll trade you bills. APS is screwing us all because of the Biden/Harris policies. Look at the difference in three years. My bills have doubled.
- UPDATED: @GovernorHobbs tells Senate to drop dead as she withdraws nominees from Senate & installs them as "executive deputy directors" exempt from what she calls "partisan obstructionism." @votewarren says she can't legally do that. Lawsuit anyone? tucson.com/news/local/sub…
- So let me see if I got this right. Trump and @KariLake rail against early ballots, say its subject to fraud. Yet president now wants folks to vote early for her. But if she loses, will they claim fraud because of those same ballots?
- Point for the day: If a politician spends all of her or his time criticizing reporters it likely is because they have nothing else of substance to say. Support local journalism. Subscribe to the papers that keep you informed of what Arizona politicians are up to.
