Professionally passionate, believe in the boundary-lessness of creativity, and love to flit between a high-tech optics research lab and a theatre stage!!
- The Centre on Tuesday slashed the grant for UGC by over 60 per cent. The grant for higher education reduced by over Rs 9,600 crore from the previous fiscal year. The overall budget allocation for the education sector has gone down by over Rs 9,000 crore. This is carpet bombing.
- So it seems that not just GST, but even customs duty for research items has gone up from 2-30%! Which, with the GST increase included, means a 43% increase in costs (=reduction in funding)! This is like a death knell for experimentalists! ANYBODY listening??@ArindamPhysics @ydnad0
- Vasant Natarajan-the man who shaped me as a physicist-is no more. He passed away in his sleep last night. The best way he could pass-his suffering was just too cruel. This is to express a little what is going on inside me. driftonblog.wordpress.com/2021/12/29/ode… @ydnad0 @Abhadra7 @RamanSpoorthy

00:00 - Replying to @ayanban7...and carried out meticulous experiments. The thesis is very well written with a nice introduction to the topic as well as the theoretical concepts. Reading the theory parts showed the firm grasp the student has on fundamental concepts.' Proud moment for the Light Matter lab! 2/n
