When you're in your 20s and 30s, you can't imagine what life will be like a year short of 70. Guess what? If you're blessedly still around it means you can still be a bad bitch kicking ass and taking names. 😀 Happy 69th birthday weekend to me!

Confession: Being a woman of a certain age, I had no clue what the acronym WAP stood for. Looked it up and all I can do is chuckle at how layered these youngins are. From protesting to WAP and everything in between. Do it til you satisfied, y’all. I ain’t mad.

I’m 2 yrs shy of 70. For those bemoaning aging. Dont. I’ve yet to encounter a sign that says enjoying life stops at a certain age. Seek out the things that make you smile or bring you joy. Age ain’t nothing but a number. Thx for coming to my BevTalk

To the people having a meltdown because I’m out here supporting all authors of color, do me and yourselves a favor and fucking unfollow me. That way you don’t have to see the content on my fucking Tl. Thanks!

TFW you must adjust to life’s new normal. Lost MIL on Saturday and my beloved Mama yesterday. It’s a lot. But my village has shown up and shown out. My sibs and I are saddened but standing, and determined to continue the legacy of family Mama took such pride in. She is missed.

My sibs and I will be saying our goodbyes to our mom in the morning. I’m so proud to have been her daughter. She made me who I am and I will miss her with every beat of my heart and every word that I write for the rest of my life.

Why do publishers attach the words: “a novel” to so called literary fiction titles? Are they afraid readers will mistake the book for a loaf of bread? Asking for a friend.

Waking up to find RWA in shambles is no fun, but there are still deadlines to meet, personal connections to hold close, and HEAs filled with hope and heart to craft. The future of the organization may be shaky but our commitment to our beloved genre is not. Sending love. Write.
